Our Story

D and L Creations was founded by Dale and Laura to share their love of rocks. The pair shares their time in both Michigan and Arizona and uses Arizona and Great Lakes rocks, stones, and gems in their jewelry. The pair often gets gemstones from around the world like Quartzite at shows in Tucson and Novi.

There is an all encompassing peace and quiet in your soul when you are out looking for that single, one of a kind rock as unique as a fingerprint. Mother Nature provides an infinite number of shapes, sizes, color and composition. It is our first attempt to share a passion we have found very fulfilling.

The earliest beads of bone, shells, dried fruit, wood and stone dates back 40,000 years but it is unclear exactly how they were used. The earliest jewelry was found in Monaco and dated 25,000 years old, made of fish bone. Since that time Sumerians, Egyptians, Minoan, Greeks, Romans, Europeans, Natives of every continent and every culture known to mankind has adorned themselves with bones, stones, shells, gems, jewels and precious medals. And to think how long people have been adding glass beads to those adornments is overwhelming.

From its Egyptian beginnings 3,000 to 4,000 years ago to Mesopotamia, China and Bohemia, man learned to make glass very early in his history. And those earliest glass beginnings were glass beads. We have found glass and crystals add immensely to Mother Natures creations.
